Fidel Castro, born on Aug. 13th in 1926 in Cuba, was a Cuban leader. He was also a politician, strategist and revolutionist who planned and led revolution in Cuba, then established Communist Party of Cuba and Republic of Cuba after success. Since revolution’s success in 1959, he has led Cuba for nearly 50 years. He once hoped to keep well along with America and visited America to meet current president Eisenhower and vice president Nixon. However, experiencing Bay of Pigs Invasion in 1961, the relation between Cuba and America incessantly festered. In the same time, Cuba and the Soviet Union establish friendly relation.
In this case, Cuba continually resisted the oppression of America, and in 1962, under Soviet’s support, the Cuban Missile Crisis eventually burst. In 1991, because of the disintegration of Soviet Union that resulted the end of cold war, urged Castro started to ally with Latin American Countries. In June 2005, Castro was hospitalized because of sickness, and his younger brother—Raul Castro, who helped Fidel Castro conduct Cuba together, temporarily occupied the country chairman in stead. On April 19th, 2011, alongside Raul Castro elected as a new chairman, Fidel Castro formally retired.
